Zephyr

Zephyr's the kind of gnome you want to pull a stool up beside and just hang out with.
One minute you'll both be gazing silently and comfortably out across the slowly moving river off his front porch, and the next you'll find yourself listening to him talk with a sparkle in his eye about the time so-and-so did this or that.
At first glance his cottage is a quirky collection of mass and form. The windows are set into the log walls in what looks like a random pattern, the roof lines go one way and then the next, the steps a bit different in height from one to the other. But as you settle in you begin to notice what's on his walls, what's on his shelves, and that whatever the topic of conversation happens to be, it all feels like the most natural thing in the world.
He loves to cook, and he loves sharing food and drink with friends for no reason other than he enjoys your company, your story, your laugh, your perspective.
I wish we all had friend like Zephyr — a friend at heart, always with an open door and a place at his table.
