There are currently six gnomes placed:
• Two on the coast, dropped by a friend—one in Ashland, Oregon, and one in Carmel, California.
• One on a local trail I placed yesterday.
• Three others scattered around, waiting to be discovered.
I’ve got four more gnomes on hand, ready to be placed, and after that, I’ll be casting more.
One thing I’ve been thinking about is how much time the website side of this is going to take. Setting up QR codes and landing pages for each gnome is manageable, but it’s the unknowns that have me curious—how much interaction will there be? What will updating the locations actually look like once things pick up? Looked into automating the process but it seems just as easy at this point to do this manually.
I need a few more gnomes out there before I can really get a sense of how much activity this is going to generate. For now, the goal is to get 25 of these placed and see what happens. That should give me a better idea of what this project will require as it grows.
